Nel 2018, Throughout 2018, 700 million bottles of Italian spumante have been uncorked, 7% more than 2017. The success of the exportation of Italian sparkling wine can be easily explained: just in the first semester of 2018 it has increased of 14%, mainly thanks to the United Kingdom, whose position in the Italian export chart has remained unchanged, followed by USA, Sweden, Belgium and Germany. Without this branch, we wouldn’t have experienced such an increment.
The export of Italian bubbly is hence the main driving force of this industry, which is constantly growing. Prosecco Doc stands out in 2018 exports, along with Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg: it alone represents 15% of the entire value of the Italian wine sector, and 61% of the sparkling wine one.
Once again, Franciacorta, Trento, Alta Langa, Prosecco Superiore of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, Alto Adige, Oltrepò Pavese and Roero Arneis, have once again proven themselves to be the local territories with the greatest vocation for the production of spumante, along with other regions which in the past few years have been guaranteeing top level labels.
In such a promising environment for sparkling wines, Permeare’s technology has much to contribute to the filtration of these wines, to stabilize them before bottling. PERMAWINE is available in isobaric version, provided with PED certification and designed with a perfectly integrated on-board tank, which supports a treatment up to 10 bar. PERMAWINE can process many kinds of sparkling wines, first of all, Prosecco, Muscat and red sparkling wines like Lambrusco.
Thanks to cutting-edge software and the use of perfectly balanced components that allow isobaric filtration, PERMAWINE is able to filter and minimize the management issues that usually affect the competitors systems.
Also PERMASTONE can work in isobaric configuration: thanks to the ability to treat lees in isobaric conditions, it can process products with a high percentage of dissolved gases and highly fermentable must lees.
